The Awakened Life Project is excited to offer this weekend workshop on how we can take steps to live more sustainably and be resilient to economic and climatic fluctuations.
What is Resilience?
Resilience can be described as the capacity to cope with change, and having the ability to adapt and evolve during challenging times. Being resilient is not just about survival, in fact resiliency in the truest sense is living in a way that can accommodate the ever changing, and includes a way of living a more sustainable, consciously connected life.
Most of our food, water and energy come from totally unsustainable sources and ones that generally don’t look after us, or our planet. Not only are they largely unsustainable, these infra structures are also extremely fragile, relying heavily on consumerism and exploitation of natural resources, resources that are depleted and running out. However there is recognition that for life to continue on this planet, things need to change. There are a number of people waking to a more expanded outlook on life and the way in which we relate to each other and the planet.
As The Awakened Life Project living in community we are passionate about living in a way that is caring for the whole, rather than just the individual. We recognize that we have the capacity to choose and actively play a part in creating the world in which we live. What we consciously choose to eat, consume and put our money and energy into has an impact in the world. Making a conscious choice to come from the place of unity, we are being active players in creating a new culture that is no longer dominated by sense of lack and selfishness, but rather one that is aiming for greater support. We support a culture that takes into consideration the bigger picture and larger understanding of the web of life.
How to be Resilient now?
The purpose of this workshop is to help you prepare and be in touch with your capacity to take care of yourself and others close to you. This is in part down to being prepared, but also, more importantly how to work with others around you and create resilient self-supportive communities, sharing knowledge, experience and ideas. Communities or resilient networks can be friends, families, or neighbours and is not limited by living in one place together.
This weekend workshop is going to be fun, practical and inspiring journey exploring the nature of what it is to be resilient and sustainable.
